The
LOOP and LINK service provide fare-free campus/downtown circulator
and cross-campus shuttle service. The service consists of four
integrated routes. The BLUE and WHITE LOOPs provide the circulator
service around the Penn State Campus and Downtown State College,
running via College Avenue and Beaver Avenue respectively. The
RED LINK runs back and forth across across campus between Innovation
Park and Whitecourse Apartments via Curtin Road and Park Avenue.
The GREEN LINK provides additional service along that route but
just between the Stadium parking lots and thestops at the Visual
Arts building stops-the center of campus.
The LOOP & LINK operates on the FULL SERVICE schedule whenever
Penn State Fall and Spring Semesters are in session. They operate
on the REDUCED SERVICE schedule generally when the Fall or Spring
semester is not in session but campus is still open (most employees
still working). There is NO SERVICE whenever semester is not in
session and campus is not open (most employees not working).
Additional no-fare weekday and Saturday campus service provided
by the CENTRE LINE H, P & UT routes. See the P Route also for
no-fare service extending out to Innovation Park.
Individual schedules
for the LOOP and LINK are available on all CENTRE LINE, LOOP, and
LINK buses, at both CATA offices, and at Schlow Library. Complete
schedule information is also available following the links below.
CAMPUS
FARE-FREE: All CENTRE LINE H, P, and
UT Route
trips are fare-free while traveling through Campus. These
are the CENTRE LINE routes that overlap the busiest portion of the
fare-free LOOP and LINK routes. This allows passengers
to use these CENTRE LINE trips in addition to the LOOP
and LINK routes to move across campus and between Downtown
and Campus without having to pay a fare. To help identify these
CENTRE LINE routes as free on Campus, the buses will display a
"NO FARE ON CAMPUS" headsign along with its
regular CENTRE LINE route identification (destination).
